Toscana members and Toscana friends started a first day of cycling leaving Bilbao and cycling to the Elciego region of Spain where known wines of Spain are in the areas of La Rioja. The group started by viewing the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao and finished the day viewing their resort for the night; Hotel Marques De Riscal which is another iconic building by architect Frank Gehry. Amidst historic villages, Toscana cyclists rode their bikes and suddenly viewed a thoughtfully artistic, modern work of art by Gehry which features a winery and resort.
The Gehry styled resort which has been in Elciego since 2006 has a contemporary artistic influence and somehow blends seamlessly with the historic buildings.
It is a melding of rustic and innovative architecture that blends and influences this beautiful landscape.
On Wednesday, August 30, Toscana Members traveled to the French Pyrenees to cycle Rolling hills and Verdant countryside.
